Carlos Lamas Signs on for Exclusive Commercial Representation
Creative editor Carlos Lamas has signed on for exclusive commercial representation at ditch., a Minneapolis-based post production studio. He joins their freshly expanded editorial staff, housed in a new, larger studio ditch. opened last September.
Lamas has recently worked on a steady stream of projects with agencies including Target, Peterson Milla Hooks, Best Buy, Gabriel deGrood Brendt, Persuasion USA and Carmichael Lynch. Recent clients include Target, Kmart, Capital One, Caphalon, and Gillette Children’s Specialty Healthcare, among others. You can check out his reel here.
A Minneapolis native, Carlos has been cutting English and Spanish-language commercials for the last decade. A mix of music videos and long-format collaborations with some of the most prolific creators in Minneapolis help to keep his commercial work fresh. In his spare time, he makes music and manages a punk/metal record label, repairs and rides motorcycles, and co-hosts a podcast about the Minnesota Timberwolves basketball team. He’s also a competitive trivia player and a member of last year’s champion team at Minneapolis’ Ad League Bowling. It seems the only thing he can’t do is stay on the sidelines.
Said Lamas, “I love working in a relaxed, aesthetically-motivated environment with creative, fun people. The facilities at ditch. are a perfect blend of technology and magic; a comfortable, artistic space with the finest edit suites Minneapolis has to offer. The people at ditch. are creative and fun. It’s a natural fit, made even more natural by my existing relationships with many of Ditch’s staffers and freelancers. Only good can come of this.”
“In most cases you define an editor by their edit style,” commented Brody Howard, editor and founder of ditch. “Carlos’ editing, however, is defined his own style. His flare for pacing and attention to the moment in a cut are impeccable. It’s this refreshing approach that first drew my attention to Carlos and I’m thrilled to have him exclusively as part of the ditch. family.”
Executive Producer Rick Zessar remarked, “Carlos is going to be a great addition to the ditch. team. He’s a natural fit here and we’re expecting nothing but great things.”
Ditch. is a post production studio located in downtown Minneapolis. Their recent client list includes H&R Block, Subaru, Tempur-Pedic, Purina, Best Buy, General Mills, Blue Cross Blue Shield, HealthPartners, Prairie Vodka, Land O’ Lakes, Park Nicollet, Grand Casino, and Nickelodeon Universe. Recent work can be seen as it airs at www.ditchedit.com and Carlos Lamas‘ work can be seen here.

“Ǝvolution” Comes Full Circle At The Chelsea Film Festival
The Chelsea Film Festival, running from October 16th through October 20th, 2024, at Regal Cinemas here in Union Square, is set to host the East Coast premiere of Ǝvolution, a thought-provoking experimental micro-short film that proves big ideas can come in small packages and in perfect circles.
In just 1 minute 16 seconds, this cinematic gem by Award-Winning Director Romina Schwedler, with original music by Argentine Composer Ignacio Montoya Carlotto, explores a cycle as old as time: life leads to progress, progress leads to destruction, and destruction, well, leads back to life. But is this vicious circle unbreakable? Ǝvolution suggests the answer is yes, unless we decide to open our eyes.
Inspired by the overwhelming number of recent events that threaten human existence, Ǝvolution, possibly the shortest film in this 12th edition of the festival, plays out entirely through the symbolism of circles, cleverly illustrating —in the blink of an eye— the repeating patterns of history, and confronting viewers with the uncomfortable truth that our so-called “progress” may, in fact, be guiding us to our own ruin.Premiering at the Regal 14 Union Square, New York City, on October 18, 2024, at 11 a.m., Romina Schwedler's micro-short, featuring Leah Young with cinematography by Alan J. Carmona, will be sure to spark conversations longer than the film itself! Forcing viewers to reconsider the true meaning of evolution, not just as a biological process, but as a reflection of our collective journey as humans.
With a string of festival appearances across the globe, including CineGlobe at CERN (Switzerland/France), Oscar®... Read More
