Joe Schaak, a director known for his comedy and dialogue commercial work, has signed for exclusive representation with integrated production house The Traveling Picture Show Company.
Based in the Midwest, Schaak has been entertaining audiences worldwide with his comedy and dialogue expertise. His creativity and down to earth personality compliment his vast directorial experience and award winning work. Schaak’s resume includes recognition at Cannes, MoMA, Clios, Effies, AICP Show Honor, The One Show and various Addy awards. His work has also been cited in SHOOT Magazine's "Featured Directors Series" and SHOOT's "Best Work You May Never See," Adweek’s Best Spots, Communication Arts, Boards and D&AD.

With continual success in commercial directing, Schaak has brought his infectious energy and communications expertise to each project. “He has a deft understanding of both the art and commerce sides of directing,” explains TPSC Executive Producer John Noble. “Joe’s experience and confidence coupled with his laser focused ability to hone and perfect the communication objective of each and every frame makes him an agency and client favorite.”

Schaak’s approach in helping every project reach its fullest potential has enabled him to have relationships with major players like McDonald’s, ESPN, Verizon, Kellogg’s Wrigley’s and General Mills. He has collaborated with agencies such as Saatchi & Saatchi, Leo Burnett, DDB, Publicis, Taxi, BBDO, Carmichael Lynch, Campbell Mithun and Rethink. “I completely respect the process and creativity behind the work of the agency and brand, each job I have has honest fluid dialogue to ensure that we all see eye to eye, making the job that much better,” says Schaak. Also evidenced in his work with stars like Deion Sanders, Shaquille O’Neal, Donald Trump and Britney Spears.
Schaak’s latest project includes a documentary about the Embassy Multinational Soccer Tournament that took place in South Africa, 1974. Schaak will be traveling with Neill Roberts, one of the South African soccer players who called this game a catalyst for change. Schaak and Roberts will be interviewing many of the players and revisiting the landmarks.
