LAIKA/house President/Executive Producer Lourri Hammack
announced the appointment of Ben Fischler as Visual Effects Supervisor for LAIKA/house.
In his new position, Fischler will drive the look and push the visual quality of projects within the LAIKA/house CG Department.
"Ben brings a broad range of experience and knowledge to studio. I look forward to collaborating with him in developing new visual styles to complement our expertise in character animation," said LAIKA/house Creative Director Kirk Kelley.
Fischler joined LAIKA/house after leaving DreamWorks Animation, where he worked as a Production Lighter on projects including: Madagascar, Madagascar 2: The Crate Escape, Bee Movie, Shrek2,Shrek The Third, and Over The Hedge.
Before working on feature film animation, Fischler co-founded CG studio Imagination Plantation, which was purchased and incorporated by WildBrain in 1999. He went on to become the Senior Technical Director at WildBrain and technical directed the feature Hubert’s Brain.
"Early in my career, building and leading intimate, focused teams was a fun challenge. After working on several features at DreamWorks, I was ready to return to the fast-paced excitement of short-form production. The Visual Effects Supervisory role at LAIKA/house is a perfect fit for my experience and growth," Fischler said.

Fischler, who grew up in New York City, graduated from the Academy Of Art College and attended the University Of Montana and Brooklyn College.
