Codex, the leading developer of digital media recorders and media management systems for film and television production, has appointed Rainer Hercher to the post of Business Development Manager for Europe and Asia. Formerly Managing Director of Band Pro, Munich, Hercher will lead the company’s customer relations and sales effort in film and television production markets across both continents.
“We are very pleased to have someone of Rainer’s experience, knowledge and character to lead our sales effort in Europe and Asia,” said Codex Managing Director Marc Dando. “We expect him to be a valuable asset as we continue to grow our presence in global markets. We also believe he will be a wonderful resource for our current customers and users of our products.”
Hercher joined Band Pro in 2010 and assumed management of its Munich office last year. Previously, he served as Managing Director of Camelot Broadcast Services in Berlin, a leading technology supplier to the broadcast industry, and a company he founded in 1997. Hercher began his career as a cameraman in the broadcast industry. He worked for broadcast and news organizations in Germany, the United Kingdom and the United States, covering events ranging from the wars in Rwanda and Bosnia to the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta.
Hercher believes that, despite the broad use of Codex products in film and television production, large segments of its potential market remain untapped. “Codex builds great products and has a strong reputation for quality and service,” he said. “I am very excited about its prospects and about new products, such as the Onboard S recorder and The Vault, that I believe will quickly become industry standard tools.”
