CineForm®, Inc. today announced it is now shipping I-J2K Suite, software it developed in collaboration with Thomson to support online post-production workflows for the Thomson Grass Valley™ Infinity™ Digital Media Camcorder. When combined with CineForm’s Prospect HD or Neo HD software, I-J2K Suite will convert Infinity’s JPEG2000 MXF files in real time to 10-bit CineForm Intermediate files which are cross-platform compatible with many post-production tools including Adobe® CS3 Production Suite, Apple Final Cut Studio, and others.

I-J2K Suite for Infinity
CineForm’s I-J2K Suite works with CineForm’s existing Prospect HD and Neo HD products to support Infinity post workflows in two ways. First, it can convert Infinity JPEG2000 MXF files to 10-bit CineForm Intermediate AVI or MOV files that maintain full image fidelity of the original files. Converted files are compatible on both Windows and Mac, and support most third-party NLE products such as Adobe CS3 Production Suite and Apple Final Cut Studio. Second, I-J2K Suite can replace the MXF wrapper surrounding Infinity JPEG2000 files with an AVI wrapper allowing compatibility with traditional DirectShow applications such as Windows Media Player. Because the underlying video compression is untouched, the rewrap process is very fast, and allows on-location shot review of Infinity files.
Pricing and Availability
The Windows version of I-J2K Suite is available for purchase from CineForm’s online store (<a href="www.cineform.com.index.asp”>www.cineform.com.index.asp) for $99 per seat. A fully-functional Trial version that includes a watermark is available from the Downloads page on CineForm’s website. CineForm’s Prospect HD and Neo HD are accompanying products for I-J2K Suite, and are also available as Trial downloads or for purchase from CineForm’s online store for $999 and $599 respectively.
A native Mac version of I-J2K Suite will be available late summer for $99 that includes CineForm’s JPEG2000 QuickTime decoder allowing compatibility with QuickTime applications.
