With entries now closed, the Ciclope International Advertising Craft Festival gears up for its second edition which will be held again in Buenos Aires, from Nov. 14-16. The festival gives value and recognition to production professionals in that it departs from the norm by honoring crafts instead of ideas. The best live action and animation films will be recognized across several categories. Attendees from all over the world, such as the U.S., U.K., Spain, France, Holland, Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay, and more than 300 entries from 25 countries make Ciclope a leading networking option for the global production market.
The festival’s second edition will host prominent production houses and professionals in the ad sector, including such shops as MJZ, Stink, @radical.media, RSA, Smuggler and The Mill.
Cíclope is supported by Argentina´s National Institute of Tourism Promotion (INPROTUR), and Shots, the international advertising magazine, major production company trade associations such as APA (UK), AICP (USA), CFP-E (Europe) and APRO (Brazil), Adstream, SHOOT, Stash, Autodesk, The Location Guide, Holland Embassy, Samsung, FilmBrazil (Brazil), Oxobox, Argentina late con vos, and Propmark (Brazil).
Festival jury members are high profile professionals from leading markets, and the event features an array of seminars, workshops, screenings and the awards ceremony. A rundown of judges and scheduled sessions follows.

Sessions, screenings
During the week there will be two workshops. The first will be given by Stephen Venning, executive producer of The Mill, and is called “3D Projects.” Venning will show how to get the best execution in 3D, from the concept until the final execution.
The second workshop will be led by Simon Gosling, executive producer of Framestore, an Academy Award-winning animation and visual FX studio. This session is titled “Advertising Mascots and Character Design.”
Seminars are also part of the festival´s agenda and include a review of Wieden+Kennedy’s standout campaigns featuring insights from Eric Verheijen, head of broadcast, who will explain the agency’s production process, how production companies and directors are scouted, what is expected from a production house, and his vision relative to the industry’s future.
Also on tap is “The Music Seminar,” which will be headed by a trio consisting of: Alan Terpins from the Brazilian company A Voz do Brasil, Brad Stratton of Bang Music and Sander van Maarschalkerweerd, executive producer of Sizzer Amsterdam. They will debate issues the music industry faces, and will showcase some of their work.
There are also two screenings this year: Screening Stash Latin America, presented by the online magazine Stash; and another organized by Straight 8, who will show a selection of the best short films in their competition.
In addition, there are sessions scheduled for the Young Director Award, presented by Francois Chilot, CFP-E President (Europe), and for the AICP Next Awards, led by Matt Miller, AICP President and CEO (USA).
