In conjunction with ICF International, Washington DC, Cerebral Lounge has completed work on “Love Through the Ages,” a :30 PSA to promote the national Two of Us public education campaign (www.twoofus.org) on behalf of the National Healthy Marriage Resource Center (NHMRC).
The spot follows a young couple as they show how communication is essential to establishing and maintaining a healthy relationship. One of the studio’s primary challenges was to re-create ancient Egypt. Combining practical and visual effects, Cerebral Lounge’s production team captured HDR images and gathered camera/lens data for the rich 3D design work. Providing on-set supervision, Cerebral Lounge worked closely with the live action crew throughout the shoot.
In post, the studio tracked the camera through Syntheyes, employing Maya to model the ancient Egyptian architecture and plants. Screen replacements were tracked using Mocha. Compositing was completed in After Effects.
Cerebral Lounge’s sister music and sound design studio, Clean Cuts Music, created an original score that takes viewers through Elizabethan times, the 1970s, and finally to a present-day neighborhood coffee shop.
From Ancient Egypt to Modern Day, we see how couples have used whatever tools are at their disposal to show how they feel, and learn that even the littlest gesture can make us smile.
