Haeussner produced ARCTIC, the Mads Mikkelsen starrer now considered among ‘Best of 2019’
Noah C Haeussner of Union Entertainment Group will make a panel appearance on Saturday, May 18, 2019, at the American Pavilion at this year’s Festival de Cannes. Titled INDUSTRY IN FOCUS: THE GOLDEN AGE OF DOCUMENTARIES, the panel will explore the current landscape and what the future holds for nonfiction storytelling.
Haeussner appeared on multiple Cannes panels in 2018, when he attended with ARCTIC, which was part of the Midnight Screening section. Produced by Haeussner, and executive produced by Union partner/editor Einar Thorsteinsson, ARCTIC hit theatres February 1, 2019. It has since been praised by Rolling Stone (“an ice-cold killer of a movie”), LA Times (“an effective nail-biter”), Indie Wire (“packed with excitement”), and Entertainment Weekly (“a harrowing postcard from the void”). Starring Mads Mikkelsen (DR. STRANGE, STAR WARS, THE HUNT), the film was directed by Joe Penna and executive produced by Martha De Laurentiis (NBC’s HANNIBAL). Union’s Michael Raimondi is co-executive producer. Chris Lemole and Tim Zajaros of Armory Films (MUDBOUND) also produced. The survival tale continues to gain momentum, and topped Vulture’s list of the “Best of 2019 (so far),” calling the movie “enjoyable and excruciating.”
Other films produced or co-produced by Union Entertainment Group include JANIS: LITTLE GIRL BLUE, BLUE MOUNTAIN STATE: THE MOVIE and HATESHIP/LOVESHIP starring Kristen Wiig and the upcoming HERE ARE THE YOUNG MEN.
Later this week, an announcement is expected at Cannes regarding Union Entertainment Group’s new film, a southern thriller.
In addition to Haeussner, the panel includes Dan Braun, Submarine, Sales Agent & Producer (Wild Wild Country, Evil Genius, Pick of the Litter) Ben Braun, Submarine Midge Costin, Director, USC Professor (Making Waves: The Art of Cinematic Sound ) Julie Goldman, Oscar nominated Producer (Abacus, Life, Animated, One Child Nation), and Tom Quinn, NEON, Founder & CEO.
