Music is just one component of The Dream365 Project, a first-of-its-kind global content initiative, launched by Visit California and Mering/Carson. Venice Beach headquartered music company Mophonics partnered with Sacremento-based agency Mering/Carson and client Visit California to develop a music and content strategy for the program, which is designed to harness the power of music and inspire travelers to visit the Golden State. In addition to content strategy, Mophonics handled artist & label relations and were responsible for music licensing and procurement of production and post teams for the music components of the Dream365 Launch. Production and editorial was handled by Santa Monica based Subtractive, both films were lensed by director Brantley Gutierrez.
As part of the project, Visit California interviewed Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros' frontman and Golden Globe® winner, Alex Ebert, about his dream to do something different and the courage it took to make it happen. As a part of the initiative Visit California also captured an intimate performance and conversation with Band of Horses on top of the Hollywood Sign.

While much has changed about California music over the past 50 years, one thing remains true: California has been the muse of thousands of songwriters, and no better medium universally captures the spirit of California than music.
