The International Audiovisual Content Market (www.miptv.com) is one of the major events of the global audiovisual market. In 2010, it shall gather more than 13 thousand creation, production and distribution professionals from April 12 to April 16, at Palais des Festivals, Cannes (France).
Brazilian TV Producers- BTVP – the international content program aimed at the external market and led by ABPI-TV, the Brazilian Association of Independent Television Producers, with the support of the Ministry of Culture, through the Audiovisual Secretariat and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency – APEX – will attend MIPTV with production companies 2DLab, Big Jack Studios, Elo Company, Medialand, Moonshot, Selva Digital, Synapse TV, Trotamundos and TV PinGuim, associated companies, to present, to the international market, Brazilian animation, documentary and multiplatform projects. Public TV broadcasters TV Cultura and TV Brasil, Rio Film Comission, RioFilme and Ancine will also attend the event. With 130 m2, BTVP’s stand will be the central point for business meetings.
For the first time, MIPTV will give room to debates on co-production in countries that have gained more space in the audiovisual market. Brazil will be the theme of the opening panel “Going Global: Brazil’s Producers Seek Out International Co-Productions”, which will be produced by the event and held on Monday, April 12, at 14:30. Jacques Bensimon (BTVP’s planning and strategy consultant, former president of the National Film Board of Canada – NFB) will be the mediator, and Kiko Mistrorigo (Vice-President of ABPITV), Raphael Corrêa Netto (International Sales Director of TV Globo Internacional), Diana El-Osta (National Geo), Bila Joa Silar (Discovery Kids), Josh Selig (Little Airplane-USA) and Andrew Breitman (2D Lab) will participate. The panel will be open to all event participants.
On Tuesday, April 13, BTVP will organize the traditional Caipirinha Happy Hour, during which it will officially launch RioContentMarket, an international meeting to be held in Rio de Janeiro from November 10 to November 12, 2010. The event will be attended by: Kiko Mistrorigo, Vice-President of ABPITV, Silvio Da-Rin, Secretary of Audiovisual, Ministry of Culture, Steve Solot, President of Rio Film Commission, and Paulo Alcoforado, director of Ancine. RioContentMarket will be produced by BTVP, Rio Film Commission, Rio Filme the Secretariat of Culture of the State of Rio de Janeiro and Rio Film Festival, which teamed up to promote the Latin American market focused on the union between traditional television and new media. Partnerships with key international markets will ensure the presence of big names of the industry. The event will be focused on businesses, with conferences and pitchings.
The Brazilian delegation at MIPTV is the first international action of ABPITV’s new board. BTVP is the audiovisual content export program organized by ABPI-TV (Brazilian Association of Independent Television Producers) in partnership with the Audiovisual Secretariat of the Ministry of Culture and Apex-Brazil (Brazilian Exports and Investments Promotion Agency). Silvio Da-Rin, Audiovisual Secretary of the Ministry of Culture; Bruno Amado, Manager of Brazilian TV Producers at Apex-Brasil; Marco Altberg, President of ABPI-TV; and Eliana Russi, Executive Manager of BTVP; were responsible for the program.

Brazilian Panel on the first day of the event, April 12, at 14:30
Brazilian audiovisual production will be the focus of the panel “Going Global: Brazil’s Producers Seek Out International Co-Productions”, organized by BTVP, on April 12, at 14.30 (on the fifth floor of Palais des Festivals). The purpose of the event is to demonstrate how the audiovisual industry in Brazil is developing. International executives will have the opportunity to meet potential partners in Brazil and understand the country’s financing mechanisms. The panel “Going Global: Brazil’s Producers Seek Out International Co-Productions” is part of Producers’ Forum, an event first held at MIPTV and produced with BTVP’s support. In addition to Brazil, the forum will also show how to establish co-productions with Canada, Japan, Malaysia and China. It is an opportunity for producers to develop their projects and identify new business opportunities. Guests will present successful cases, such as the movie Avatar and the series Lost, and pitching tips. MIPTV 2010 should gather more than three thousand buyers of television, internet, mobile telephony, IPTV, VOD Telecom, entertainment and licensing, representing more than 100 countries.
About Brazilian TV Producers
Established in 2004, BTVP promotes the Brazilian independent audiovisual production in the international market. As a result of its efforts, Brazil is currently seen as an important market and is part of the co-production business plan of several international broadcasters and production companies.
BTVP enables commercial partnerships between Brazilian and foreign companies (through co-productions, sales and pre-sales to TV channels, internet, mobile telephony and new media) and offers support by such famous international consultant as Jacques Bensimon.
In just six years, the program has facilitated the execution of over 50 TV projects in partnership with 12 countries (Germany, Canada, Spain, U.S.A., France, India, England, Japan, Malaysia, Portugal, Chezh Republic and Singapore). ABPI-TV (Brazilian Association of Independent Television Producers) is the entity proposing the BTVP. Created on July 1st, 1999, in Rio de Janeiro, it represents the independent producers of audiovisual content for television and new medias. It is present in all areas and is constantly looking for new market opportunities in Brazil. ABPI-TV is involved in important debates of the sector, such as PL 29, new medias, new financing sources and partners.
