Limited opportunities remain to participate in the 8th annual charitable event.
Avid, Formosa Group, the Motion Picture Editors Guild, Sony Pictures, Technicolor and Warner Bros. are among the sponsors of the 8th Annual MPSE/CAS Golf and Poker Tournament slated for Sunday, September 18, 2016 at the Angeles National Golf Club in Sunland, California.
Co-hosted by the Motion Picture Sound Editors (MPSE) and the Cinema Audio Society (CAS), the popular event benefits MPSE’s Ethel Crutcher Scholarship Fund, which provides mentoring and support for student sound artists, and the two organizations’ work in promoting the role of sound in movies, television, gaming and other entertainment media.
The MPSE Golf Tournament has gotten bigger every year, attracting a crowd of sound professionals and others for a day of fun and networking. This year, with the addition of a poker tournament and co-host CAS, the event promises to be the most successful yet.
Sponsorship opportunities are also generating plenty of interest among studios, technology manufacturers and trade organizations eager to support a good cause and promote their brands before an elite crowd. “It’s a great way to cement relationships and build new bonds,” says MPSE President Tom McCarthy. “It’s also an opportunity to give back to the sound community and support the next generation of sound talent.”
Sponsorship opportunities at various levels still remain, but are limited. “We’ve developed unique, fun and impactful ways for sponsors to participate in both the golf and poker tournaments,” notes event organizer Karen Dunn. “This event draws a very influential and loyal group of professionals who appreciate the commitment of our sponsors. Sponsors also earn the gratitude of MPSE and CAS.”
A few tickets also remain for individuals wishing to participate in the event.
