Cutters Studios (http://cuttersstudios.com) is very proud to announce the return of award-winning editor Cameron Yergler to its staff in Chicago. The announcement was made by managing director Craig Duncan and managing editor Grant Güstafson.
After earning his B.A. in Film and Video Editing from Columbia College Chicago, Yergler began his commercial career at Cutters Chicago in 2010. Distinguishing himself as a Best of Chicago AICE nominee over the next two years, Yergler relocated to New York City as an essential member of the team that opened the Cutters studio there in 2013. Since then, he has worked on high-profile campaigns for 3M, Amazon Originals, BCBS, Facebook, Humana, Maserati, the United Nations, and CVS, for which he won an AICE award with Cutters editor Nadav Kurtz in 2015. His extensive work on narrative and documentary films also includes the dramatic short "Gema," currently on the film festival circuit.
"Cameron is among the most thoughtful and thorough editors I've ever seen," explained Cutters New York executive producer Elizabeth Krajewski. "If you hand him 40 hours of footage, you can believe he will memorize every second of that footage backwards and forwards. Through diligence and genuine passion, he has built relationships where his collaborators trust him completely. His growth as a creative editor has been extraordinary to watch; I can truly say that every project he touches is elevated by his ideas and talents."
"Cameron is one of those rare creative talents: The total package," Güstafson began. "An incredible storyteller with impeccable instincts on how to manage a room. We all are very excited to have him back in Chicago."
"Cutters cultivates an amazingly strong sense of loyalty, and many leading editors have made their entire careers here," Yergler said. "In this space, people develop deep bonds and feel supported in taking creative risks. Our clients understand that, and the result is a very high level of trust. It's great to be part of a collaborative environment like this one, where the best idea always wins out."
After his extended tour in NYC, Yergler has much to look forward to in the Windy City. "Before I even unpack, I'm heading to Half Acre or Revolution to get a cold beer from a great Chicago brewery," he added with a smile. "I love New York and will miss it dearly, but it is not a beer town."
