Digital creative services agency AvatarLabs has named Josh Lawson as an Interactive Producer. He joins the company from Paramount Pictures, where he held the same post.
In his new position, Lawson will be responsible for developing and implementing digital and social media marketing campaigns promoting theatrical and home entertainment releases from clients of AvatarLabs. His work will involve creative direction, brand development, project management, campaign strategy development and execution, content creation, social engagement and viral promotion.

About JOSH LAWSON:
Prior to joining AvatarLabs, Lawson was an Interactive Producer for Paramount Pictures (2007-2010). During this time, he worked on the online theatrical marketing campaigns for dozens of feature films, including both “Paranormal Activity” and “Paranormal Activity 2,” “Star Trek,” “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull,” “The Last Airbender,” “The Lovely Bones,” “The Spiderwick Chronicles,” “Bee Movie,” and others. Additionally, Lawson received numerous awards for his work on the marketing campaigns for “Paranormal Activity” (Key Art and OMMA Awards), “Star Trek” (Key Art Award) and “The Spiderwick Chronicles” (Key Art Award).
Lawson’s experience also extends to creating original online content. From 2005-07, he worked as a Web Content Producer for G4TV.com, G4 Television’s online portal. There, he produced "Around the Net," an iTunes awarded podcast, which featured the best viral videos on the web. In addition, Lawson also wrote, shot and produced original content for such other web shows as "The Feed," "Tech Round-Up" and "Tech Review.” These series were comprised of demographically-specific news stories and interviews, covering such topics as videogames, music, movies, celebrities and pop-culture.
A native of San Diego, Lawson holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Media Arts from the University of Arizona. He is actively involved with thinkLA, Digital LA, SxSW Interactive and iMedia Connection. In addition, he has served as a New Media judge for The Hollywood Reporter’s Key Art Awards, and is a PGA member of its New Media Council.
