AvatarLabs, one of Hollywood’s leading online marketing agencies, specializing in the creation of online rich media, sites and original branded digital content, has named Henrik Markarian as the company’s new Director of Technology. Rex Cook, the executive creative director and founder of AvatarLabs, made the announcement.
Mr. Cook said, “Henrik has immediately become a key component in our company’s further push within the areas of branded online gaming, casual gaming and iPhone apps. He is a true asset to AvatarLabs.” Adds Mr. Markarian,

In his new position, Markarian is responsible for directing and managing the cross-disciplinary development and execution of project specific and long-term corporate specific technical strategies for AvatarLabs. Additionally, he will represent and communicate the company’s engineering and business philosophy, methodology and capabilities to current and potential clients, as well as across all departments, business units and service lines.
ABOUT HENRIK MARKARIAN:
AvatarLabs’ new Director of Technology is a twenty year veteran of the video game industry. Markarian started his career as a programmer with The Software Toolworks / Mindscape gaming company, and ultimately rose in the ranks to serve as the Development Director of the entire console division. In 1997, he co-founded Starsphere Interactive, a development studio based in Los Angeles, managing it for a successful eight year run. Following that venture, Markarian joined NovaLogic as the company’s Director of Development, where he oversaw the efforts of the entire development department.
During his career, Markarian has worked on a number of high-profile and award wining projects, including: “Mario is Missing,” “Black Hawk Down,” “Chessmaster,” “You Don’t Know Jack” and “Star Trek.”
