AvatarLabs, one of Hollywood’s leading online marketing agencies, specializing in the creation of online rich media, sites and original branded digital content, has named Daniel Weisinger as in-house Producer. Said Rex Cook, Executive Creative Director, AvatarLabs, “Daniel is a huge movie fan, and saw an opportunity with AvatarLabs to combine his love of film with bleeding edge digital technologies to help market films in the 21st century. He is also a valuable member of AvatarLabs’ content production team, and has organized and produced several successful shoots.”
Previously, as a freelance producer for AvatarLabs, Weisinger worked on interactive marketing projects for such major clients as Paramount, Sony International, Fox International, Fox Searchlight, and Warner Bros. Home Entertainment. In that role, he produced campaigns for both the Academy Award nominated “Up In the Air,” and the Golden Globe winning comedy, “The Hangover.”
About DANIEL WEISINGER
Born in Burbank, CA, Weisinger grew up surrounded by the film industry. He attended the University of Southern California in 1999 and later graduate school at Columbia University, where he received his Master’s of Fine Arts in Film Producing.
In his first and second year at Columbia, Weisinger was the recipient of the Arthur Krimm Award for Producing, and later the program’s producing fellowship. He quickly became a faculty favorite, working for both Richard Brick (“Sweet And Lowdown,” “Celebrity,” “Deconstructing Harry,”) and Michael Hausman (“Amadeus,” “Brokeback Mountain,” “Gangs of New York,”) where he assisted in the production of various film and television projects, including multiple Michel Gondry music videos.
Over the next few years, Weisinger was involved in the production of numerous projects, holding a variety of production positions. He spent much of 2004 working on several films at Junction Films as the executive assistant to producers Donald Kushner and Brad Wyman (“Monster,” “Tron,” “Freeway,” “Love and Sex.”)
While at Junction Films, Weisinger worked in various capacities on more than two dozen films, and, by 2007, was organizing the company’s accounting and film incentive audits — as well as receiving Associate Producer credits on various Junction films.
In 2008, Weisinger Associate Produced “Look,” working under former Chairman and CEO of America Online, Barry Schuler. Shot entirely from the perspective of surveillance cameras, this timely feature (which inspired a Showtime TV series,) gives a brutally honest account of the secret lives of people in a country where eavesdropping is becoming the rule rather than the exception. Also in 2008, Weisinger Associate Produced “Pistol Whipped” for Sony, and served as post-production accountant on New Line Cinema’s “Normal Adolescent Behavior.”
