Support Includes Log3G10 Gamma Space and REDWideGamutRGB Color Space
Always at the forefront of post-production support for the latest RED digital camera formats (www.red.com), ASSIMILATE’s SCRATCH 8.5, build 909, now includes support for RED’s new 8K Weapon Helium Sensor, as well as the 8K Weapon VistaVision-sized Sensor (full frame). Support includes the Log3G10 gamma space and REDWideGamutRGB color space.
“Our SCRATCH digital workflow and tools have always been first to support the RED high-resolution cameras since the launch of the RED ONE camera,” said Jeff Edson, CEO at ASSIMILATE. “With the 8k Weapon camera with the Helium and VistaVision-sized sensors, filmmakers have even more resolution choices for telling their stories, and SCRACH 8.5 works as their high-performance ‘weapon’ in post production for creating high-quality results for viewing audiences.”
“OFFHOLLYWOOD is currently providing both new bleeding-edge 8K Weapon camera systems from RED to our customers. Having the proper tools to manage workflows and provide support to our clients as early adopters is key to our success,” said Mark Pederson, director of technology at Offhollywood. “We knew ASSIMILATE would be there for us to provide full support for the 8K raw files from both the Weapon with 8K Helium sensor and the Weapon with 8K VistaVision-sized sensor in their newest release of Scratch 8.5. Of course there are many other tools available today, but for over a decade we find ourselves continually relying on ASSIMILATE's SCRATCH.”
OFFHOLLYWOOD, www.offhollywoodny.com, provides emerging technologies, workflows and support to empower their clients and the community of filmmakers around the world, specializing in UHD, 4K+, VR, 360, 3D and multi-cam productions.

Simian Gets An Evolutionary Boost For Collaboration, Reveals “Teams”
Simian, the showreel-building, review & approval, and production asset management platform used globally by creative leaders, is kicking off this fall season with a substantial leap forward for collaboration and project management – with more updates on the way during the holidays!
The new feature, aptly dubbed “Teams”, makes it easier than ever for users to give project responsibilities to team members and clients alike. “You can never have too many options when it comes to permission levels,” says Jay Brooks, Simian’s Chief Technology Officer. “Teams provides a streamlined way to assign multiple users to a project at once.”
“Teams are very powerful, but creating one is effortless,” Brian Atton, Simian’s Chief Operating Officer explains. “Simply enter a Team name, add members, and then apply the newly made Team to any desired project. You can even invite temporary guests without changing settings for other projects or needing to create a new Team.”
“We love helping our clients by providing efficient tools to improve their workflow, and this has been a frequently requested feature as of late,” shares Kellie Atton, Head of Sales at Simian. “It feels great to get Teams out into the wild because I know it’s going to be tremendously helpful to everyone who uses it”.
Teams is now available exclusively to Simian’s enterprise clients. Simian plans to release more product upgrades and enhancements during Q4 2024 and 2025 for enterprise and non-enterprise users, continuing its ongoing evolution as the industry’s leading production asset management solution.
