Artsploitation Films is pleased to announce the acquisitions of a new Horror film HIDDEN IN THE WOODS at the recently concluded Ventana Sur Film Market in Buenos Aires. Ray Murray, President of Artsploitation Films said about the film: “HIDDEN IN THE WOODS is quite a different film than those we’ve previously acquired: it is a pure, deliciously gruesome horror film that, while incredibly violent, has in its heart a tale of survival against all odds. We are excited to be able to present this film to adventurous American audiences.”
HIDDEN IN THE WOODS was a much buzzed about film at this summer’s FrightFest in London. According to the FrightFest promo the film is “a deranged frenzy” and contains some of the most explicit and shocking content ever seen in a genre film. The film had its world premiere at Fantasia Fest in Montreal earlier this year where it was described as: “The bastard child of a Ruggero Deodato/Sam Peckinpah/Gaspar Noรฉ pile-up gestated in the loins of Roberta Findlay, HIDDEN IN THE WOODS is a blisteringly confrontational piece of work that will have even the bravest of audiences watching from between their fingers if not full-out running for cover.”
Artsploitation is planning 2013 release for HIDDEN IN THE WOODS. The acquisition deal was negotiated by Patrick Ewald of Epic Pictures and Jennifer Arndt-Johns on behalf of Artsploitation.
