The Art Directors Guild (ADG, IATSE Local 800) presents PATTERNS, SYMBOLS, DREAMS: A CONVERSATION WITH RICK CARTER, Oscar®-winning Production Designer and last year’s recipient of the ADG Lifetime Achievement Award. Carter is the Production Designer on the upcoming Star Wars: Episode Vll – The Force Awakens, set for release in 2015.
A 15-minute reel will be shown spotlighting behind-the-scenes clips of his work on films with Steven Spielberg and Robert Zemeckis, followed by a Q&A. The evening is open to ADG members and press only.
Rick Carter’s distinguished work has garnered him two Oscar wins – for Lincoln (2012) and for Avatar (2009). He also received two Oscar nominations for Forrest Gump (1994) and War Horse (2011). For his work on Avatar, he received the Art Directors Guild’s Excellence in Production Design Award and the BAFTA Film Award for Best Production Design, among others.
