Jaeger-LeCoultre and Finch & Partners announce their collaboration in the production of an original photographic exhibition showcasing 'The Art of Behind The Scenes’. The Vernissage will be held at the Hôtel du Cap (Antibes) on May 15th 2015, coinciding with the annual Cannes Film Festival.

The exhibition will showcase photography by some of the world’s most accomplished ‘on-set’ photographers. Jaeger-LeCoultre and Finch & Partners are delighted to have the opportunity to celebrate this visual art of photography, allowing us all the opportunity to travel back and rediscover some legendary films as well as iconic directors and actors. Many of the images are extremely rare and some have never been exhibited before. Each photograph has been specially curated by photographic expert, John Ingledew.

The world of cinema allows us all to dream, and a huge number of people are involved in the production of a film. From actor to director, cameraman to editor, costume designer to sound recordist and film score composer to set photographer, each tells their part of the story and contributes to the final product in a unique and important way. All are artists in their given field. It is this artistic ingenuity and the importance of the visual art of photography that Jaeger-LeCoultre and Finch & Partners will celebrate with this exhibit.

About Jaeger-LeCoultre and the cinema
A creative vision. A perfect blend of technical excellence and artistic sensitivity. Haute Horlogerie and the filmmaking world enjoy many similarities. Whether in the workshops of the Manufacture or behind the scenes in the making of a movie, artisans and artists are fired by the same passion and the same creative impulse: to ensure that every second captures a moment of eternity. That is exactly why Jaeger-LeCoultre has been actively involved for more than 10 years in promoting the 7th art. The Brand notably encourages directors through the “Glory to the Filmmaker” prize awarded for the past eight years at the Venice International Film Festival. In 2013 Jaeger-LeCoultre further established its active support of the film community and its new generation of filmmakers by joining forces with The Film Society of Lincoln Center to create the ‘Filmmaker in Residence’ Program. Through its link with the Shanghai Film Festival, Jaeger-LeCoultre participates in restoring historical Chinese films, a precise, meticulous and passionately driven endeavour highly reminiscent of watchmaking craftsmanship. www.jaeger-lecoultre.com
