At NAB 2017 Booth Number SL 14617, Archion Technologies , along with NewTek, will be demonstrating NewTek’s widely adopted NDI™ standard for IP-based production workflows. The Archion EditStor Velo system will be located in Archion’s booth, connected by Ethernet, to NewTek’s latest 4K video broadcast system. During NAB, the EditStor system will be serving out 4K video to NewTek’s main booth SL5016. Archion will also be interviewed on Wednesday, April 26, at 10:30 am, at NewTek’s NDI Central stage.

Having joined the industry’s largest IP ecosystem of products and the rapidly expanding number of companies enabling IP-based customer workflows, Archion integrated NDI into its EditStor systems, to be recognizable as a source by other NDI-enabled applications and devices connected to a standard Ethernet local area network. The company’s EditStor (with NDI enabled) is one of the industry’s first network storage systems recognizable as a source by NDI-enabled devices, as well as other systems connected to a standard Ethernet local area network. This exponentially increases the number of video sources available for live production.

NewTek’s royalty free NDI technology allows video and audio sources to be shared bi-directionally across a network, eliminating the need for costly direct connections, expensive cable runs, and infrastructure upgrades while turning every source into a destination instantly available anywhere on the network.

Archion's EditStor Velo system with NDI combines the simplicity, interoperability and cost effectiveness of network attached storage (NAS) with the intelligence and efficiency of IP-based broadcasting. With this development, broadcasters can now easily connect up their TriCaster® multi-camera video production system with industry leading storage, with the added benefit of sharing of 4K video and audio on an IP based network. All NDI devices now are able to discover and mount EditStor volumes automatically, with unprecedented access to file based video and audio on an IP based switching system.

“With an NDI IP environment where sources are abundantly available to the producer, network attached storage provides a central place for all those content choices,” said Michael Kornet, Executive Vice President of Business Development for NewTek. “NDI-enabled devices like Archion’s price-performance leading EditStor exponentially increase the video sources available for live production, creating efficiencies and opportunities for customers that did not previously exist. NDI is the most widely adopted IP technology on the market, epitomized by the millions of customers with access to it today.”

"Archion has always led the industry with intelligent shared media storage solutions, and we are proud to be a frontrunner in adopting NDI in collaboration with the NewTek team," said James Tucci, Archion’s CTO. "By investing in the NDI integration, broadcast professionals using NewTek TriCaster can now seamlessly deploy EditStor, and enjoy how quickly the 4K media will be discovered and ready for use.”
