James Was Longtime Executive with Universal Music Publishing Group
Composers Jeff Lippencott and Mark T. Williams, Co-Founders of Ah2 Music, are making available a new catalog entitled “Filtered Music.” The new catalog is prominently showcased on the company’s brand new website.
In addition, Lippencott and Williams have named Scott James as the company’s new Vice President of Business Development.

About SCOTT JAMES
Prior to joining Ah2 Music, Scott James held a series of progressively more senior positions over the course of 31 years with both Universal Music Publishing Group and, earlier, with MCA Music Publishing. Most recently, James had been Executive Vice President, Film, Television, and Synchronization – Worldwide, with Universal Music Publishing Group. During that time, he led the 35 person Film and Television Department for the world’s number one music publishing company.
James’ duties in that post included involvement with clearances and licensing: researching rights, negotiating fees, issuing synchronization licenses, and processing payments. He led a successful team that secured song placement opportunities in film, television, advertising, trailers, videogames, new media and consumer merchandise. His Special Markets team preserved and raised awareness of Universal’s song catalog through the design of CD samplers. E-blasts, podcasts, print ads, and other marketing tools.
Also as Executive VP, Film, Television and Synchronization – Worldwide, James directed and managed the successful integration into the Universal Music Publishing Group Film and TV and synchronization personnel and music assets, with those of the many prestigious publishers acquired during his tenure, including: All Nations, Geffen, Rondor, PolyGram, and BMG.
Earlier (1994-2008,) James was Senior Vice President of Motion Picture, Television, and New Technologies – Worldwide, with Universal Music Publishing Group. Between 1980 and l994, he held a series of posts within MCA Music Publishing, which included Vice President of Motion Picture, Television, and New Technologies – Worldwide; Vice President of Motion Picture, Television and New Technologies; Director of Motion Picture and Television Music; Manager of Motion Picture and Television Music; and Recording Engineer and Catalog Archivist.

“Ǝvolution” Comes Full Circle At The Chelsea Film Festival
The Chelsea Film Festival, running from October 16th through October 20th, 2024, at Regal Cinemas here in Union Square, is set to host the East Coast premiere of Ǝvolution, a thought-provoking experimental micro-short film that proves big ideas can come in small packages and in perfect circles.
In just 1 minute 16 seconds, this cinematic gem by Award-Winning Director Romina Schwedler, with original music by Argentine Composer Ignacio Montoya Carlotto, explores a cycle as old as time: life leads to progress, progress leads to destruction, and destruction, well, leads back to life. But is this vicious circle unbreakable? Ǝvolution suggests the answer is yes, unless we decide to open our eyes.
Inspired by the overwhelming number of recent events that threaten human existence, Ǝvolution, possibly the shortest film in this 12th edition of the festival, plays out entirely through the symbolism of circles, cleverly illustrating —in the blink of an eye— the repeating patterns of history, and confronting viewers with the uncomfortable truth that our so-called “progress” may, in fact, be guiding us to our own ruin.Premiering at the Regal 14 Union Square, New York City, on October 18, 2024, at 11 a.m., Romina Schwedler's micro-short, featuring Leah Young with cinematography by Alan J.
