Division of Labor, an innovative upstart creative agency has turned to Oink Ink to produce a radio campaign for client, Roku.
Roku is a tiny box that streams Netflix, Hulu Plus, Amazon Instant Video, Pandora and over 600 channels straight to any TV. It’s become one of the best-selling devices of its kind.
Division of Labor, an ambitious startup agency located in San Francisco brought Oink Ink Radio on board to create the radio effort for Roku as part of their new campaign that uses the line, “Keep Streaming America!”
The :60 humorous spots feature an “All-American” approach toward watching TV. Roku encourages its listener to forget about inventing the next big thing and to instead indulge in endless television viewing using the device.
Oink Ink Radio conducted casting for the radio commercial bi-coastally – and secured Fred Melamed, a prominent voice actor who lent his voice to the spots. Another set of voices make an appearance in Roku’s radio spots, too – that of the entire Oink Ink staff – who hummed the melody of the patriotic anthem: “The Battle Hymn of the Republic” for the piece.
Jim Price, co-Founder of Oink Ink, says of the project, “We knew early on this was a cool assignment. A very fertile project, creatively. The client and agency know their market and have defined their product well among the consumer. Given that solid, tight direction it really opened the door for some good creative.”
Verbatim Studios, Oink Ink’s in-house mixing studio handled production of the spots. Verbatim’s Conor Murphy recorded and mixed the campaign. Oink Ink Radio wrote, produced and directed the work.
