Standout bicoastal production company Aéro Film, over the last quarter, has been quietly expanding their NYC offerings. The East Coast hub – which will soon feature full-service postproduction capabilities and a deeper roster of directing talent – is off to a fast start in securing sales reps simpatico and expanding the role of award-winning Exec Producer Sara Eolin.
“After securing our position on the west coast and slowly building out east, we were anxious to elevate our service offerings to support the needs of New York agencies, and there’s nobody we trust more to build momentum than Sara,” stated EP Lance O’Connor. Projects under Eolin’s recent watch at Aéro include a myriad of commercial campaigns as well as, “The Sandpit,” a short film by Sam O’Hare that earned numerous award nominations. She has been at Aéro since 2009 and holds valuable agency experience that gives her broad perspective on the industry. While at Merkley and Lowe, Eolin earned multiple Clios, NY Festival and AICP awards for her work with Mercedes and GMC.
“Sara is an invaluable resource who understands how to speak the agency, production and post languages impeccably,” O’Connor continued. “She has the patience of an angel and the tenacity of a lion.”
Eolin’s relationship with Aéro’s talent dates to 2003, when she was with Merkley + Partners and teamed up with director Klaus Obermeyer and O’Connor for a three-week pharma shoot in Tahiti. The trio forged a friendship over a stormy misadventure of a boat ride that ended with Obermeyer plunging into shark-infested waters to save another boat.
“Because of how we met and how close we’ve become, we are very much a family,” noted Eolin. “When I came to Aéro after 12 years on the agency side, it was because I wanted to concentrate on the nuts and bolts of production, rather than being one step removed. Yet, I couldn’t just go anywhere – I wanted to be part of a company that I could completely put my heart and soul into. Knowing that I’d be working as a vendor for many of my agency friends, it was important to align myself with people I could put my name behind. And I can do that at Aéro – we have incredible directing talents, an amazing production team and the ability to take a project through post. I look forward to the challenge of duplicating our multi-faceted capabilities of the West-Coast in the Big Apple!”
In addition to solidifying Eolin in her expanded role, Aéro has retained respected New York firm simpatico to act as its East Coast sales team.
Aéro will announce details of its full-service postproduction entity and updated directing roster over the course of the next several weeks.
