Jonathan Axelrod, an award-winning independent producer of television and film, has been appointed Chief Operating Officer of AECG, it was announced today by company President & CEO Alan Ett and AECG Entertainment President Peter Isacksen. In the newly created post, which reports to Isacksen, Axelrod will oversee the strategic integration of all of the AECG companies which are emerging as pre-eminent providers of a range of services and content to the film, TV and other media communities.
“Jonathan is a force of nature. His enormous experience as an independent producer and studio executive coupled with his extensive industry contacts and skill makes him a terrific asset for AECG. I’m thrilled to have him on board,” says Ett.
“Jonathan is a better pick up for us than Manny Ramirez was for the Dodgers,” says Isacksen. “I’m thrilled to be back in business with him.”

Axelrod’s prolific background in the film and television community is both rich and varied. His previous posts include serving as Vice President and Senior Executive of ABC-TV Prime Time, where he oversaw all comedy, drama and variety development, Executive Vice President of Worldwide Production, Columbia Television, and President of New World Pictures. Included among the many TV movies developed and supervised by Axelrod are the Emmy Winning Jericho Mile, and Friendly Fire.
As an independent producer, Axelrod produced the Emmy Award winning film Against the Wall, directed by John Frankenheimer for HBO. Among his other producer credits are the television movies, The Secret Passion of Robert Clayton (USA), The Price She Paid (CBS), and the syndicated series Hollywood Babylon.
While at Paramount Studios, Axelrod produced the drama series Sex, Lies and Secrets (UPN). He also produced a number of highly successful sitcoms including Dave’s World (CBS), Can’t Hurry Love (CBS), Brother’s Keeper (ABC), Movie Stars (WB) and Some of My Best Friends (CBS).
