The Art Directors Guild (ADG, IATSE Local 800), Founding Sponsor of Eagle-Con, has announced their event during the three-day Sci-Fi convention at Cal State LA from March 8-10. ADG panels feature Nelson Coates and ADG President; Chuck Parker, ADG Executive Director, for discussions on the Labor movement, entertainment, art, sci-fi, fantasy, race, gender identity and sexuality. Eagle-Con brings together a diverse range of students and the professionals behind science fiction TV-shows, fantasy novels, comic book movies and superheroes comics, while discussing topics such as ableism and ethnicity. Additionally, the ADG will host an exhibit with over 300 pieces of production art that reflect the theme of this years' convention: Aliens, Monsters and Others.
Growing exponentially since its inception four years ago, Eagle-Con has flourished into a campus wide event. This year's panels spotlight topics including "Bringing Monsters and Aliens to Life: From Storyboarding to Acting," "Guardians of The Galaxy Super Panel," "We Design Their Worlds: Union Membership and Diversity in Science Fiction and Fantasy," and a Drawing Workshop with artist Pierre Bernard Jr. The Art Directors Guild's exhibits and panels are joined by panels from theCostume Designers Guild (IATSE Local 892).
