2019 version of its flagship radically simple media management application
The market leader in media management software for small and midsize teams, axle ai, is now shipping axle ai 2019. The company will be showing the product at its IBC booth, Hall 7.D33, in September's global conference on video technology. A major step up in power and productivity above earlier versions of axle ai, as well as above newer entrants in the media management space, axle ai 2019 highlights include:
- Improved Premiere Pro panel with metadato transfer
- Core filesystem sweep/cataloging function is 4 times faster
- Faster H.264 proxy generation
- Auto-scrolling of transcripts when speech-to-text is enabled
- Human-in-the-loop editing; staff can tweak AI metadata
- New, robust status panel tracking job status
- Optimized R3D RAW performance in available module
Sam Bogoch, CEO of axle AI, says “We believe a revolution is underway in the way you look at your media. Instead of a pile of unreadable file names and folders that you’d have to fumble through and watch to have any hope of locating material, axle ai catalogs that media – now four times faster than before – and surfaces the most important and relevant segments automatically whenever you search. We know that nearly any media team, whether in a corporate marketing setting, a political campaign, a house of worship, or a news or sports organization, is going to reap huge benefits from a system like this.”
Axle ai 2019 is compatible with nearly all shared storage systems (NAS and SAN), archival storage systems based on tape and disk including Archiware P5, Front Porch, Spectralogic BlackPearl, and XenData, and cloud storage systems including Amazon S3, Microsoft Azure, Backblaze and Wasabi.
Pricing and Availability
The combined solutions are available beginning at $2,995 for 2 users, and $5,995 for 5 users. Affordably priced speech transcription, face recognition and scene analysis tools are available on a monthly subscription basis. The software can employ low-cost Apple Mac minis (under $2,000), 18-core Apple iMac Pros, or old and new Mac Pro towers as its computing platform. A version for Linux-based physical and virtual servers is also available.

Sonic Branding For Social Media: Engage, Align, Connect
By Chad Cook -- With more than five billion people accessing social media daily, savvy brands understand the importance of cultivating a strong social identity. They devote massive resources toward brand awareness, audience targeting, content strategy and community engagement. Yet, while they know that social platforms are critical to boosting sales and attracting new customers, many neglect one of the most effective tools for connecting with consumers: sonic branding. Marketers often associate sonic branding with catchy mnemonics used by big brands like McDonald’s, Netflix and Intel in their advertising. But that is a very limited view of what sonic branding is and what it can do. Sound has been scientifically proven to be deeply tied to memory and emotion. There’s a reason that certain songs stick in your head and bring back memories formed years or even decades earlier. So, it’s surprising that sonic branding is often an afterthought in marketing plans. That is especially true in social media marketing. Faced with tight deadlines and strained budgets, creative teams are often tempted to select music for their content simply because it “fits.” Unfortunately, that may result in content that is in tune with what’s trending but is out of tune with brand identity. Effective sonic branding, by contrast, requires thoughtful strategic planning,... Read More
