32TEN Studios is now hosting three new tenants at its San Rafael site. These new tenants include companies working within the film, video and animation sectors.
“The addition of these companies to the growing production community that has chosen to headquarter at 32TEN allows us to provide extensive creative capabilities and unique technological services to any content creator,” said Tim Partridge, CEO, 32TEN. “We are delighted that these new tenants have decided to base their businesses here, and we look forward to collaborating with them on a diverse array of future projects.”
Lou Romano is now based at 32TEN. Currently working as a freelance Art Director, Romano has previously worked as an illustrator and designer on various animated projects, including “The Powerpuff Girls” and “The Iron Giant” (1999.) His production design work on Pixar’s “The Incredibles” (2004) earned him an Annie Award. His artwork has appeared on the cover of The New Yorker, and has been published in several books, including “The Art of The Incredibles,” “The Art of Monsters, Inc.,” and “The Ancient Book of Myth & War.” Also renowned as a voice over artist, Romano has given voice to several popular animated characters, including “Linguini,” the young boy from the hit film “Ratatouille.”
Another new tenant to 32TEN is George Rosenfeld. Rosenfeld founded SylvanVideo in l996 as a full-service production and post production facility based in Marin County, CA. The company is involved in a variety of projects, including documentaries, feature films, broadcast and corporate video, music videos, educational films and direct sales presentations. Among the company’s clients are such notable entities as Visa, Levi Strauss and Company, San Francisco’s Museum of Modern Art, Adobe Systems, Inc., Kaiser-Permanente, and the Government of Tibet.
Merrick Cheney is the third new tenant to 32TEN. The owner of a puppet design studio, Mechinations, Cheney is an expert in the design and manufacture of puppets featured in stop-motion animated films. His work has appeared in such high profile feature films as Henry Selik’s “The Nightmare Before Christmas,” “James And The Giant Peach,” “Coraline,” and Tim Burton’s “Corpse Bride” and “Frankenweenie.” Mechinations offers its clients custom machining services for Industrial Design. CAD/CAM modeling services are also offered.
