2C continues to put fresh firepower behind its creative work with the hiring of Omar Acosta, who joins as Creative Director, Design effective July 7. Acosta, who has directed, designed and produced numerous award-winning spots throughout his illustrious career, will report to 2C President and Executive Creative Director Chris Sloan. Launched in 2005, 2C has become one of the leading producers of promos, rebrands, show packaging, main titles, brand integrations, live-action shoots and original series for TV networks, studios and national advertisers. Acosta will help lead a driven group of designers whose credits include spots for NBC Olympics, HBO, SyFy and Discovery, to name a few.
Added Acosta: “I see this as an opportunity to progress creatively. There is so much potential to do stellar work—especially with the team already in place—that I couldn't turn down the opportunity. I feel like I'll be able to bring great creative thought leadership to guide their talents and bring outcomes that reflect exactly that.”
Omar Acosta comes to 2C with more than 10 years of experience as a design director, creative director and producer. For the past six of those, he ran his own profitable boutique studio producing an array of award-winning design spots for such notable brands as MTV, NBC, Yahoo!, Microsoft and Def Jam, among others. Acosta held previous creative posts at Microsoft Surface, Prologue Films, Yahoo! and MTV Latin America, and he had already built a unique portfolio of design clients before completing his formal education.
Awarded a generous merit-based scholarship, Acosta attended the Parsons School of Design, earning a degree in Design and Technology. He studied Advertising at the Miami Ad School and Fine Arts at the Art Students League of New York. Tapping his international roots, Acosta also got the opportunity to study Fine Arts/Photography at Puerto Rico’s Liga de Arte de San Juan.
As a passionate and accomplished lifetime student of design and advertising, Acosta gives 2C another major hammer in its tool box and allows the company to delve further into rebrands, movie title sequences and other high-end design challenges. He also brings a live-action director acumen that rounds out his vision, creating a more holistic approach to design.
