Matt Miller, President and CEO of the Association of Independent Commercial Producers (AICP), and Jackie Kelman Bisbee, Chairperson of the 2012 AICP Show, The Art & Technique of the American Commercial, and Co-Founder/Executive Producer of Park Pictures, announced the release of the AICP Show & Next Awards Shortlists. The honorees will be unveiled at the Show’s premiere on June 12h at The Museum of Modern Art in New York City, and made a part of the archive of the Department of Film at MoMA. Last night, AICP hosted a series of Shortlist preview parties in New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles, for AICP Show & Next Awards Judges, the AICP Show Board of Governors, the AICP Show Curatorial Committee, and The AICP Show Committee.
“This year more than ever we have witnessed the evolution of the collaborative process,” said Miller. “Because so many projects included companies working together to in roles that defy traditional definition, we have decided to forgo a formal tally, as there is really no fair way to determine the level of contribution to each project. What is clear is that while the industry evolves, techniques, styles and approaches make for interesting bedfellows, with some bold clients allowing creativity to breathe, and realizing massive payoffs “.
“It will be very exciting to see the final disposition of the Show—we have an incredible group of Curators assembled to review the results of the judging and assemble a show that this industry can be proud of.” continued Kelman Bisbee. “The Shortlist highlights that the past year has been a great one for creative concepts.”
