Lena Beug of Station Film directed this “Super Fresh Granny” online video, part of a campaign for Chevrolet, Buick and GMC Certified Pre-Owned Vehicles out of agency MRM/McCann Detroit
A storyteller appears on camera and tells us of a young man who’s on his first solo road trip but he gets a flat tire in the middle of nowhere. Suddenly, his sojourn to help his grandma, who has a pending bake-off event, is in jeopardy. But the roadside assistance service provided by the certified pre-owned GMC vehicle program comes to his rescue, allowing him to get to his grandmother in time so he can take her to the bake-off which she wins.
Beug’s cast is quirky and relatable, her visuals campy and distinctive, as the comedic scenarios unfold explaining why the cars and program are in a league of their own.
