    Pitch, Hungry Man Team On Quicken Loans Campaign Tied Into Paramount’s “Star Trek Beyond”

    Retail mortgage lender Quicken Loans has entered into a promotional partnership with Paramount Pictures in advance of the July 22nd U.S. theatrical release of Star Trek Beyond. Rocket Mortgage by Quicken Loans, a fully online mortgage experience, is rolling out two new television spots, and a digital media sweepstakes offering fans the opportunity to win Star Trek-themed prizes, including tickets to the world premiere of Star Trek Beyond in San Diego.

    The set of :30 and :60 commercials, created by Culver City, Calif.-based agency Pitch and directed by Dave Laden of Hungry Man, introduce a Vulcan couple (and their family pet) on their journey to purchase a more accommodating dwelling. In the “Doors” spot, we see how their current residence has become a bit cramped. The couple ultimately determines Rocket Mortgage is indeed the best and most logical way to help them secure financing for a new earthly home.

    From Paramount Pictures and Skydance, Star Trek Beyond is a Bad Robot, Sneaky Shark, Perfect Storm Entertainment production. The film stars John Cho, Simon Pegg, Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoë Saldana, Karl Urban, Anton Yelchin and Idris Elba. Directed by Justin Lin, the third film in the franchise series is produced by J.J. Abrams, Roberto Orci, Lindsey Weber, and Lin; and executive produced by Jeffrey Chernov, David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Tommy Harper. Based upon “Star Trek” created by Gene Roddenberry, the screenplay is written by Simon Pegg and Doug Jung.

    Ad Council, Directing Duo The Hudson Dusters Share “The Rewards” Of Adopting Teens From Foster Care

    The Ad Council, partnering with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Administration for Children and Families (ACF) and AdoptUSKids, launched a public service campaign, created pro bono by Edelman, which aims to inspire prospective parents to consider adopting a teen from foster care.

    This centerpiece PSA titled “The Rewards”--directed by The Hudson Dusters (Michael Kuhn and Niles Roth) via Greenpoint Pictures--spotlights real adoptive families who have personally experienced the mutual benefits of adoption. This longer form PSA (and cutdown versions) begins with a touching display of openness and vulnerability as adoptive parents reflect on their adoption journeys and their initial questions and hesitations about adopting a teen. Then, in a deeply emotional turn, the adoptive parents witness their children recounting the profound rewards of adoption in their lives. The teens speak of the love they share with their parents and how the decision to become a family is reciprocal. The campaign directs viewers to the AdoptUSKids website to learn more about adopting a teen from foster care.
