Peter Moore Smith–who joined his first production house roost, Aero Film, as a director last October after serving for four years as executive creative director at Saatchi & Saatchi New York–wrote and directed this PSA which advocates raising the federal minimum wage.
Titled “Compassion,” the public service piece is for Raise the Wage, an initiative to increase the minimum wage to livable pay. Aero Film worked with American Rogue and Parachute VFX to produce the spot which asks such questions as what’s the minimum number of hugs you give a kid each day or the minimum number of calls you make to your mom in a year? These queries are as lacking in compassion and morality as asking, what’s the least we can pay per hour to those who wash our dishes, clean our toilets and mop our floors?
Sam O’Hare served as DP on the PSA, which was cut by editor Lorena Ospina.
