This animated fable illustrates the value of asking questions, as we see a lad who benefits from deploying a question mark literally as a tool to help him along in life’s daily adventures.
Elliot Lim directed the piece for Charles Schwab Corporation which is titled “The Boy Who Asked Questions.” The animation is appearing at Schwab-sponsored outdoor film events.
To find the sweet spot between classic storybook drawings and something more modern, Lim created an illustrative animation that’s elegant, emotive, and deceptively simple. “I wanted to make sure the animation served the story, not distract from it,” explained Lim. “The execution needed to match the illustration style–no frills but smooth and precise.”
