What does the youngest generation think about women in advertising? Even more intriguing, what do these youngsters whose moms are in the ad industry think about the biz?
For the recent Goodby Silverstein & Partners panel at the Cannes Lions, titled Daughters of the Evolution, Lauren Greenfield of Chelsea directed this short film in which we hear from: Vivian Gray McHugh, daughter of Margaret Johnson, chief creative officer of Goodby Silverstein & Partners; Sophie Lefebure, daughter of Design Army co-founder and chief creative officer Pum Lefebure; Kia Medlock, daughter of Judy John, CEO of Leo Burnett Canada and chief creative officer of Burnett North America; Ella Emhoff, daughter of Kerstin Emhoff, president, PRETTYBIRD; and Leela Ting, daughter of Chloe Gottlieb, chief creative officer/U.S. for R/GA.
The session, moderated by Greenfield, and the short film uncover these girls’ ideas about the best and worst parts of their mothers’ jobs; their definitions of leadership, success and fearlessness; and their own aspirations and predictions for what the future holds.
