Ed, a grown man, reluctantly walks into a classroom for reading lessons. The teacher starts him with a children’s book, the title of which he can’t even read. Subsequent lessons show the man slowly yet steadily making progress until he can read on his own. We then see him at home where he opens a box containing greeting cards he’s received over the years. He reads the first one: “Papa means love. I now this is true. I know it because my papa is you. Happy Father’s Day, Papa.” It is signed, “Love, Jenny.”

MAMA Duo Directs Zany Spud-Snacking Music Video For Jarina De Marco, mediopicky
Jarina De Marco is back with her latest single and video, “Pelame La Papa,” a Dembow anthem brimming with irreverent vibes and a tongue-in-cheek sense of humor from the directorial duo MAMA (Mark Potoka and Matt Starr Spicer).
At the core of this single is De Marco’s long-time collaborator, mediopicky, who co-produced the track with Alex Krispin in their L.A. studio. Jarina and mediopicky’s creative synergy forms a musical yin and yang, their contrasting tones complementing each other perfectly.
True to his innovative nature, mediopicky reimagines genre conventions. In this collaboration with De Marco, he takes dembow--a style often charged with sensual energy--and playfully subverts it. The result is an unexpectedly catchy track about the mundane act of peeling potatoes. Yet, despite its seemingly innocuous subject matter, the song delivers an irresistible beat that compels listeners to the dance floor with the same intensity as any conventional dembow hit.
MAMA recently signed with production house Caviar for representation.
