Christoph Waltz tells James Corden a bedtime story, “The Legend of the Last Lava Pup,” in this cinema short for Supercell’s Clash of Clans game out of agency Barton F. Graf 9000. The “Legend” is based on a real player story gleaned from mining Clash community pages, forums and even Reddit. It’s part of a campaign driving home the idea that every Clasher has a story.
In “The Legend of the Last Lava Pup,” a Lava Pup, the lone survivor of the army, saves an entire Clan War seconds before the clock runs out. This true tale is brought to life and made even more heroic by Psyop animation.
The overall integrated campaign celebrates passionate players’ major achievements. The premise behind it is that every day and everywhere, Clash of Clans players are creating epic moments in-game on their mobile phones and tablets, and with this insight in mind, Barton focused their strategy on these legendary moments–moments of “Clash Achievery.”
The campaign will include a dedicated website where players can submit their own moments of achievery and view those stories being featured.
