Lexus revealed its first electric vehicle, the RZ 450e, with blockbuster-level action in a campaign starring General Okoye (Danai Gurira) of Marvel Studios' Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and her all-female royal guard, the Dora Milaje.
Directed by Anthony Leonardi III of Bullitt for Walton Isaacson, this :90 titled “An Electric Future” culminates in an explosive car chase. Describing the campaign, Leonardi noted, “I hope people watch the ad and feel like they are in a great movie. For each Lexus spot, I treat the vehicle like a character, so like a Marvel character, the RZ 450e is the hero. It is the star, and I wanted viewers to feel like they are along for the ride.”
Leonardi has a track record of helming spots tied to marvel Cinematic Universe properties (Tide/Dr. Strange, Old Spice/Thor).
