This poignant, cinematic piece for Oceana is designed to raise awareness about overfishing, urging the public to act now in order to save the bluefin tuna.
Directed by Andreas Roth (who’s repped by RSA Films in the U.S. and U.K.) and produced by Tempomedia for agency Panthalassa Content, “Sea Legend” depicts a future when all bluefins have disappeared from our oceans and only live on as memories from an old fisherman.
Creative director Sergio Penzo of Panthalassa, an ocean-inspired creative platform based in Berlin, Hamburg and San Sebastian, said of the Atlantic bluefin tuna, “We are rapidly bringing them to the brink of extinction. And if we continue to do so, the bluefin will be wiped out of our oceans, becoming only but an old tale we will be hearing of in old fishermen canteens”.
The public service message premiered as a short film during the San Sebastian Film Festival and will be now shown on cinemas worldwide as well as pushed online by Oceana.
