In an effort to widen the search for Australia’s missing people, “Help Find Me” leverages the Internet’s most important feature–the search bar. The use of high-traffic websites’ search bars donated by corporate Australia is key to the initiative’s success. When a user lands on a participating website and uses the search function on that site, the profile and image of a missing Australian will automatically pop up. A link to the campaign website is included for anyone who may have any information or wants to learn more, and get involved.
“Help Find Me” is led by the Missing Persons Advocacy Network (MPAN), in partnership with Grey Group Singapore’s newly formed philanthropic arm, Grey for Good, who are teaming up with corporate Australia.
Australian actress and MPAN ambassador, Deborah Mailman, is excited to see corporate Australia come forward and support this program. “What this is all about is sharing the responsibility and engaging the Australian community as a collective, to help families and friends of missing Australians who might not have any resources or avenues to find their loved one,” she said. Mailman noted that more than 38,000 people go missing in Australia each year, which equates to around one person every 15 minutes.
