Fred & Farid Paris joined forces with the Fondation Abbé Pierre to provide a winter awareness campaign, the centerpiece of which is this film titled “The Good Life” directed by Sarah Suco via production house Superette.
Recognized as a public utility in 1992, France’s Fondation Abbé Pierre seeks to raise awareness of and spark the general public’s generosity when it comes to homelessness.
In this COVID era, the winter awareness campaign seeks to promote a sense of hope. This is the story of Virginie who faces little inconveniences in her daily life. However these misfortunes don’t spoil her good mood. The 40-something shows a smile, one that comes from the past–a time when she survived life on the streets with the help of the Fondation Abbé Pierre. There can be a life after homelessness and her responses to the hardships reflect gratitude for life and for how far she’s come. The film’s score is the iconic French song, “C’est beau la Vie,” as we witness Virginie’s rebirth.
