Joseph Mann via Blinkink directed this U.K. spot for real estate firm Purplebricks out of agency Snap LDN.
The stop-frame animation piece depicts a slice of mundane family life–replete with fidgety toddler, a listless teen, and worn-out parents. Thankfully mom and dad’s experience with Purplebricks helped lighten their load–if only for a brief stretch.
To achieve the authentic feel of everyday household interactions, Mann worked intensively with comedy actors to design the performances in terms of body language, facial expressions and naturally flowing speech intonations.
The characters were brought to life through intricately crafted animation with scenes built into miniature sets, and populated with painstakingly detailed handmade puppets, clothes and props.
