For the Thai Health Promotion Foundation, BBDO Proximity Bangkok enlisted the support and scientific expertise of the Faculty of Medicine at Chulalongkorn University to create the world’s first ink made from smokers’ lungs. Research scientists extracted the black substance from donated lungs and bottled it. BBDO distributed the bottles of The Black Lungs Ink at public venues so people could see what smoking does to their lungs and bodies, hopefully getting them to quit or never start smoking to begin with.
This case study video chronicles the initiative designed to stem the tide of deaths (142 people each day) due to smoking in Thailand.
