72andSunny has rolled out a documentary-style film, Ember, as a teaser for the anticipated release of the Activision game Call of Duty: Black Ops 3. “Ember” generates excitement for Black Ops 3 by exposing cultural truths of today and connecting them to the world of the game.
The short begins in the 1990s, using real news clips to capture the emerging realities of enhanced performance and then spans through each decade, to include the creation of wearable tech and bionics. The film ultimately concludes at 2065, with a look inside the world of Black Ops 3, and asks, how far will we go?
The future depicted in this piece includes DNA enhancement, voluntary limb replacement and retinal chips. Modified athletes are eligible to compete, brain-to-brain connections are possible and organ replacements have become elective, aesthetic operations.
Patrick Clair of Elastic directed the short.
