Val Chmerkovskiy and Jenna Johnson Chmerkovskiy, the married power duo from the hit series โDancing With the Stars,โ both multiple Mirror Ball champions in their own regard, will host the 12th Annual Make-Up Artists & Hair Stylists Guild Awards (MUAHS, IATSE Local 706), which take place on Saturday, February 15, at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles.

Val Chmerkovskiy rose to stardom as a fan-favorite dance professional. He is a 14-time US National Champion, a two-time World Dance Champion, and a three-time Mirror Ball winner on โDancing with the Stars,โ among his many accolades. Chmerkovskiy also appeared in the 2021 award-winning Amazon Prime film โBeing the Ricardos.โ He has since appeared on numerous television shows, including Netflixโs โFuller Houseโ and Foxโs โFlirty Dancing,โ and served as a judge on the inaugural season of โDancing with the Stars: Juniors.โ Chmerkovskiy has starred in six DWTS national tours, eventually co-writing and co-directing his very own 55-city North American tour โOur Wayโ as well as additional sold-out national tours including โConfidentialโ and โStripped Down.โ In 2018, Chmerkovskiy released his first memoir titled โIโll Never Change My Name,โ which detailed his life, career, and experience as an Eastern European immigrant. As a classically trained violinist, Chmerkovskiy has performed at Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center.
Chmerkovskiy is the co-founder and owner of Dance with Me Studios, a leading nationwide network of dance studios with the mission of making dance accessible to all people regardless of skill level. In response to the 2022 humanitarian crisis in Ukraine, Val, along with his brother and father, launched Baranova 27, a charitable organization that provides funds and humanitarian aid, including medical, hygiene, baby supplies and more, to those in need in the country.
Jenna Johnson Chmerkovskiy is a fan-favorite from โDancing with the Starsโ and โSo You Think You Can Dance,โ who was most recently crowned the champion of โDancing with the Starsโโ Season 33 alongside โThe Bachelorโโs Joey Graziadei, eliciting a record-breaking number of votes. Additionally, Johnson Chmerkovskiy was the champion of Season 26, partnered with Olympian Adam Rippon, and made history dancing in the first-ever same-sex couple with her star partner JoJo Siwa for Season 30 โDancing with the Stars.โ Johnson Chmerkovskiy has been a professional dancer on DWTS for 15 seasons over the last decade and has participated in six of the โDancing with the Stars: Live!โ tours, serving as dance captain for three of them.
Jenna and Val were recently nominated for an Emmyยฎ Award for their routine honoring late โDWTSโ judge Len Goodman in the Outstanding Choreography for Variety or Reality Programming category.
As previously announced, Todd McIntosh, Emmyยฎ-winning make-up artist, known for his work on โBuffy the Vampire Slayerโ and โMemoirs of a Geisha,โ and Peter Tothpal, award-winning hair stylist known for his work on โGuardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3โ and โTerminator 3: Rise of the Machines,โ will receive the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Awards. The Vanguard Award will be bestowed upon RCMA Makeup. The Distinguished Artist honoree will be announced shortly.
In light of the recent devastating Los Angeles wildfires that have affected many Union members, Local 706 will raise funds at the 12th Annual MUAHS Awards to support the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE) Walsh Di Tolla Spivak Foundation.
