Kickstarter CEO Everette Taylor will give the keynote address at the 13th edition of The One Club for Creativity’s hybrid Where Are All The Black People (WAATBP) diversity conference and career fair, taking place October 26-27, 2023 at Convene at Brookfield Place in New York.
Under his leadership of the crowdfunding platform for creative projects, Kickstarter was named one of Time Magazine’s 100 Most Influential Companies due to the company’s global impact in the creator economy and being trailblazers for the future of work.
Taylor previously served as the CMO of Artsy, the largest online marketplace for buying and selling fine art. During that time, he was recognized by Business Insider as one of the World’s Most Innovative CMOs, and named by Forbes as one of the World’s Most Influential CMOs due to the business seeing all-time record revenue growth and brand awareness.
As a marketing executive and CMO, Taylor helped lead both on-demand rental car company Skurt and B2B software company Qualaroo to successful acquisitions, cofounded GrowthHackers.com, the community for growth marketers, served as CMO of e-commerce company Sticker Mule, and oversaw growth strategy for new social products for Microsoft. As CEO of PopSocial, he was recognized as Forbes 30 Under 30 in 2018 for his innovation in the social media marketing space, and Forbes 30 under 30 All-Star in 2019 for exponentially growing the company.
The One Club’s Where Are All the Black People is an annual gathering to address and correct the lack of diversity within the ad industry, bringing together Black voices from across the ad community–from students to C-suite leaders–to celebrate successes, examine setbacks, and assert their rightful place at the table alongside their allies.
The annual conference is a hybrid event, with the first day taking place online and the second in person at Convene in downtown New York. WAATBP is free to job seekers and students, and $60 for networkers and agency staff.
Virtual panels, portfolio reviews, and recruiting sessions will happen online on October 26. The second day includes the keynote presentation by Taylor, followed by additional panels, recruiting booths and portfolio reviews.
WAATBP branding was developed by Nicole Cousins and Dante Carlos at COLLINS New York.
