Jeanne Stack Fiannaca, a producer of commercials and movies, has passed away at the age of 55 after a courageous five-month battle with an aggressive lung cancer.
Upon graduating from the University of Texas in Austin in 1983, with a Bachelor’s degree in Communications for Radio, TV and Film, Fiannaca moved to Hollywood to begin her career in spots and features.
Born in San Francisco, she married Carmelo Fiannaca in 2002 and they made their home in Malibu. She passed away on May 19, survived by her husband (and their dog, Charlie); parents Mike and Nell Stack; siblings Debbie Stack Feigle, Kristi Moyer, Paul Moyer, and Earl Moyer; as well as nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. Jeanne Stack Fiannaca also leaves behind many wonderful friends. Cremation has taken place.
A Celebration of Life event was held at her home in Malibu honoring Jeanne on May 23. Family and friends laughed and cried together, shared stories, paying an amazing tribute to Fiannaca who truly lived life to its fullest. The following quote–attributed to Hunter Thompson–shared by her niece at the Celebration sums it up: “Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming 'Wow! What a Ride!'”
Fiannaca’s last request was for her family and friends to stop smoking. If desired, donations can be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society or MalibuMosaic.com. Stories and pictures can be shared with Carmelo Fiannaca at Facebook.com/mondocarmelo.
