Filmmaker Michael Mann is launching his own publishing imprint.
The director of such films as "Miami Vice," ''The Insider" and "Heat" announced the creation of Michael Mann Books on Wednesday. He expects to publish fiction and non-fiction titles, which will be simultaneously adapted for film and TV.
A prequel novel to 1995's "Heat" is among the imprint's priorities.
Some of Mann's most successful films have been adapted from literary materials. "The Insider" was based on a Vanity Fair article and received seven Oscar nods.
