FCB New Zealand has promoted Leisa Wall and Peter Vegas to co-chief creative officers, marking the latest chapter in the longtime creative duo’s partnership of nearly a decade. In their new roles, Wall and Vegas will deepen their
creative leadership across FCB NZ’s client portfolio, which includes Mitre 10, Foodstuffs, Air New Zealand and Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency.
Wall and Vegas have a collective 24 years at FCB NZ, most recently as co-ECDs, earning both regional and global recognition for the agency’s creative work for local government offices and corporate clients. Following FCB NZ’s launch of creative data and CRM capability FCB/SIX earlier in 2022, the duo will now also play a pivotal role in bringing data-driven brand experiences to the region by bridging the gap between creativity and data.
“We’re thankful for each other, our clients, our teams — everyone who continues to believe in the effectiveness of our creative work,” shared Wall and Vegas in a joint statement. “Our agency’s ability to solve business problems and address societal challenges in New Zealand is only getting stronger and more innovative, and we can’t wait to see what’s next.”
Under the duo’s leadership, FCB NZ has delivered numerous noteworthy campaigns, including Mitre 10’s “With You All the Way,” named the world’s most effective television campaign at Kantar’s 2021 Creative Effectiveness Awards; Waka Kotahi’s “Toll Booth,” which earned Gold at The One Show 2022; Te Hiringa Hauora’s “How To Do Nothing” PSA; PAK’nSAVE’s “Spendy Ad Blocker,” and Fire and Emergency New Zealand’s “Firefighters Don’t Like Fire Movies” and “Return To Script Department.”
“The maxim ‘Don’t ask for the title, just start doing the job’ applies to Leisa and Peter. They’ve been CCOs in my mind for several years,” said FCB global chair & global chief creative officer Susan Credle. “This says a lot about who they are and how they lead. Autonomy trumps hierarchy. They are team players; they also happen to be superstars. And today they are officially the CCOs of FCB Aotearoa.”
“Leisa and Peter are so talented as individuals and so complete as a team on top of being exceptional human beings. Everything they do is driven by a genuine commitment to do the right thing, pushing our clients’ business forward and pushing for positive social change for Aotearoa. It’s a privilege to be working alongside them,” said FCB New Zealand CEO Sรฉbastien Desclรฉe.
FCB New Zealand was named the most-awarded agency for the third straight year at the 2021 IAB Digital Advertising Awards, while winning the Best Use of Data Grand Prix and Personalization Award at the WARC Awards for Media and additional honors at The One Show, MAD Stars, Axis Awards, Best Awards, Beacon Awards and more.
