MullenLowe U.S. has tapped award-winning Belgian executive Dieter Lebbe as its new head of production in its Los Angeles office. Lebbe will oversee all day-to-day film, digital, and art production for the office across its client roster and will report to executive creative directors Laura Sampedro and Carlos Alija.
Lebbe began his 20-year career producing reality TV shows like Big Brother and Fear Factor before he made the leap into the world of advertising. He joined European agency Duval Guillaume as head of TV before moving over to Caviar as executive producer, where he remained for nearly a decade. He eventually moved stateside to found Caviar Digital, expanding the company’s creative footprint into new media content and digital storytelling.
Lebbe switched back to the agency side, joining Droga5 as executive producer and later TBWAChiatDay New York. In the past couple of years, he produced global campaigns for Netflix, Levi’s, Headspace, Dolby, and others for 72andSunny, AKQA, and GUT.
“Dieter is a valuable addition to our team with his diverse experience and passion for content, ranging from commercials and branded entertainment to TV shows and digital media,” stated Alija.
“We look forward to seeing him push our teams to think differently in this challenging economic landscape in order to maintain the highest level of creativity and production value,” added Sampedro.
Lebbe said, “I admire what Javi (Javier Passerieu, managing director, MullenLowe LA), Laura, and Carlos have done to rewire the agency creatively. They have a track record of creating highly crafted work and I’m looking forward to leading the production team in becoming an essential part of that creative process.”
