Click 3X has announced an entirely revamped live action division, X3 Films. The X3 Films team produces a broad range of compelling content for brands and agencies, including commercials, long and short form films, digital content, vertical and 360 video and more.
To lead X3 Films, Click 3X has hired Michael Flexner as executive producer, charged with overseeing all live action production and further developing and nurturing the director roster.
Peter Corbett, president and partner of Click 3X, said, “With Click 3X’s experimental approach to production comes a need for talented people who can bring creative ideas to life in new and interesting ways. By revamping X3 Films and bringing on acclaimed industry vet, Michael Flexner, we can produce different forms of storytelling for our brand and agency clients.”
Flexner is a 19-year industry veteran in the entertainment, film, production and advertising space. Prior to joining Click 3X, Flexner was Head of Production at content creation/production company, Bodega Studios, where he focused on broadcast, digital and social content for agency clients. Flexner got his start in feature films, working at independent production company, Open City Films and commercial and music video producing arm, Blow Up Pictures. From there, he moved into directing and producing branded content for noted corporate and academic clients.
He did several years of freelance directing and TV work before joining Discovery Channel’s top-rated show at the time, Surprise By Design. Flexner then moved on to Viacom Media Networks where he led production strategy for VH1 and its sister channel, Logo. He was also part of the small network launch team for Logo and Centric, a collaboration with BET and part of rebranding team for VH1 from 2012-2014. He has been honored with multiple PromaxBDA awards, several Emmy nominations and other honors throughout his career.
Recent and upcoming live action work under X3 Films has included two promo spots for NFL’s Thursday Night Football and an upcoming spot for International Delight directed by Damien Drake, along with a spot for the NBA store and one for OnStar, directed by Manny Bernandez.
SMPTE elects board officers, regional governors
SMPTE®,the home of media professionals, technologists, and engineers, has revealed the board officers and regional governors who will serve terms beginning in January 2025.
Three new officers--Richard Welsh as SMPTE president, Eric Gsell as SMPTE executive VP, and Polly Hickling as SMPTE Education VP--have been elected for a two-year term from Jan. 1, 2025, to Dec. 31, 2026. One SMPTE officer, Lisa Hobbs, will be continuing her service as SMPTE secretary and treasurer for another two-year term. Additionally, Raymond Yeung will be stepping into the role of standards VP on Jan. 1, 2025.
“SMPTE’s membership has spoken,” said SMPTE interim executive director Sally-Ann D’Amato. “These officers have been tasked with an important responsibility, one each of them is prepared to tackle head-on. These next two years are looking bright for SMPTE!”
In addition to the officers, 10 regional governors were elected by the Society to serve two-year 2025-2026 terms.
